Trainee Dog Trainer

James like many other members of our staff originally came to A1K9 on a voluntary basis while he was studying for his degree in Criminology.

He was fascinated by the personal protection dog training that we undertake here at our Swansea base and soon realised that he wanted a career working with dogs as he very much enjoys the outdoor life.
As soon as an employed position became available James started working part time at our facilities, becoming a full time member of our staff in September 2010.

James has really progressed with his training abilities and tells us he finds his job truly rewarding. He especially enjoys demonstrating his dogs, meeting with the clients and ultimately seeing dogs that he has helped to train going to their new families.

James is a keen sportsman and when not working he spends much of his time coaching youth sports; football, cricket and martial arts.

His fitness and athleticism certainly stands him in good stead for when he’s playing the criminal during protection work training with the dogs.
