Dog Obedience Training
We have successfully obedience trained over fifty different breeds of dog, ranging from Jack Russell terriers, Bichon Frises and other small breeds to Great Danes, English Mastiffs and even a South African Boerboel, just to mention a few.
Customers dogs sent to us for Basic & Intermediate Obedience Training are normally with us for 4 - 5 weeks, staying in our pupose built kennel complex and being cared for by our experienced team of trainers and kennel staff.
Basic Obedience - “Lead work”
The dog is taught the following commands & exercises whilst on a lead.
“Heel Work,” to walk in a controlled manner to the left of its handler.
“The Sit,” to sit peacefully by the side of its handler.
“The Down,” to lie down beside his handler.
“The Stay,” to stay in the position in control by the side of or in the immediate vicinity of its handler, even with moderate distraction.
Intermediate
Obedience - “ Off Lead Work”
This next level encompasses all of the basic obedience but whilst off lead with the following additions:
“The Recall,” to return to its handler when called whilst off the lead.
“The present,” when recalled to sit in front of the handler facing him.
“The Left Finish,” following a present and on command to pass behind the
back of the handler and sit at heel.

We are sometimes asked to train a pair of dogs to work alongside one another and in one case trained a trio of dogs for a customer, as the pictures below show.
We start by training the dogs individually, then once they have each learned all of the obedience we then train them together.
